I understand the orange positioner strap is an official option on STARS seat for a bus, and that's it's crash-tested.
How tight should it be? Does it matter?
They do my daughter's (age 3) really tight, just like the harness (which it's good the harness it tight, as I requested after she came home with it loose once).
But the strap goes right under her ribs, sort up upper stomach. And it's TIGHT. It goes UNDER the harness. So in a crash, isn't it just going to jam into her (break her ribs or cause internal stomach injuries)? It would catch her before the harness, it seems.
I would never tie a strap around my kid's rib cage/stomach area. And lap belts are not safe riding high on kids. So, please tell me how this official option strap is safe. Maybe it is but I need more info!
