I was half-watching the news last night and they did a piece on teenage drivers in NJ, saying that NJ has the highest rate of teen accidents. Something like 24% of all serious accidents in the state involve teenage drivers, but teenage drivers only make up 6% of the driving population. Pretty staggering statistics, I thought.
But, NJ has a law where if a teen driver is pulled over for not wearing a seat belt (or anything else and found not wearing a belt), they automatically lose their license for 60 days.
I think this is great! Really, what would hurt a teen more than losing their license?
Anyone else hear about this?
