I moved this from the Articles and Reviews section (which is meant for reviews and articles written by car-seat.org members rather than other media sources) over to the more suitable News, Press Releases and Media section.:) ETA: The stat for the RFing convertible you're citing is the carseat type only perhaps rather than which direction it faced upon arrival at the check event? 28 is a pretty remarkable number either way it's interpreted for kids 8 years old and up to arrive facing either direction in a convertible carseat. I find the stats of kids age 8 and up arriving in infant seats with or without the base more surprising even though I've personally seen that sort of misuse IRL occasionally.

I would be willing to bet that was a typographical or recording error. I just can't even envision that. Not that there aren't 8-year-olds who could fit, but that in itself would be extremely rare. The fact that it would actually happen--28 times no less--is inconceivable.

There's another spot for ffing with harness. (Does not differentiate between convertible or combo seat.) I wonder if those states were in error. If so, how many others could have been in error as well?

Yeah... the percent that showed up in infant seats may have just been sitting *on* them, but even I don't put my 8+yos in RF convertibles, and I am pretty fanatical about RF. LOL.
