My son is in a Montessori school and this year his class is taking off site field trips. He is in a class of 8 and they are all over 40 pounds so the school is using their small bus. The bus has lap belts but I am not excited about him using them. I read they may actually make matters worse in most crashes. I drove him to the last field trip but he really wants to ride the bus.
I found the Safeguard star. I keep seeing reference for special needs. Does this seat provide crash protection or is it just for helping special needs children stay in their seat and supported. To clarify, my son is not special needs. He says he does not care about using the seat as long as he can ride the school bus.
Is the seat a good idea for him? Will it provide crash protection?
