What are people's problems?

So last week some cousins and I got into a conversation about the new laws. They thought it was so stupid that we have to have our kids in a 5 point until 65lbs. WHY!!??? It is not stupid, it's SAFE!!! Not that it would matter to my one cousin anyway. Her dd has been in an AO as a booster for a long time, and there is NO WAY that she is 40lbs. So if you're breaking the law anyway, what does it matter to you?

But it's not the law with this change. It is not mandatory to have kids in harness until 65 lbs. It only means there are now carseats available to 65 lbs with 5 pt harness, should any kid would need it. Laws across Canada is pretty much still until 40 lbs.

That was my understanding of it as well.

The new regulations allow for the OPTION of harnessing to 65lbs, but doesn't make it mandatory.

Well, they seemed to understand that it was law to have their kids harnessed in a 5 point until 65lbs. Who am I to argue? :evil grin:

:ROTFLMAO:

I had a similar conversation with a friend when I mentioned that her 3-in-1 seat only harnessed until 40 lbs and there is no way I'd be ready to put DD1 in a booster at 40 pounds. She just could not wrap her mind around wanting to keep kids harnessed longer  . I said that we were getting the Recaro that harnessed until 70 lbs and she could not believe I would "do that to my child"
