Just a quick response, since it has been discussed before:

My biggest hangup is that you've just placed passengers in the vehicle's crumple zone. Even if your vehicle had an optional third row (for example, the Rav-4 comes with or without the third row), they often have different frames for the two versions. The manufacturer doesn't just stick a third bench in the two-row version to make it a three-row; they actually start with a different frame and it's an entirely different vehicle. The two-row vehicle may have a crumple zone that extends through the entire cargo area, including the space where a third row would have been.

Which cars have a different frame when they have three vs two rows? I've never heard of this? I assume you are speaking of cars that are the same length with or without the extra row.
