1.5 inch RF clearance?

Sunshine Kids Juvenile Products: Thank you for posting a great question! We don't have pictures of an installation with a Ford Focus. Maybe one of our followers can post one. As far as the top harness slots, they measure up to 18". Your child's head shouild not be closer than 1.5" from the top of the seat back in the rear facing position. Does this answer your question?

So, is this new? because its not in the manual and its not the general 1 inch rule? When did this change?

The manual only says 53 inches, ears even with the top of the shell.

Whoever is doing their FB page has been saying 1.5" for a little while. If 1.5 inches is important, they need to PUT IT IN THE MANUAL. :soapbox:

I emailed them that question not too long ago. Here's what was said:

'While we have no safety concern with a RF child whose head is only 1" from the top of Radian's seat back, we have used 1.5" as a more conservative guideline to account for the fabric cushion at the top.' ~Dave Clement

Yes, but we know its not 1inch from the top of the seat, but from the top of the HARD SHELL... this doesnt include the cushion.... Ugh, they drive me crazy sometimes.
