Volvo and Installing Tether Anchers

HI! I have a Volvo S70, and it has 3 pre-dilled holes in the back. They all have hooks on the underside (it can be seen in the trunk). The middle has a plastic cover to pick up, and I guess it needs a hole to be cut through the material there and a TA on top of it.

I only need 1 TA installed in the center, the other kids are RF. My 6 yr. old is tired of RF! He's close to 40 lbs.

How much should this cost or is it free? The car is an '02.

Call a local Volvo dealership up and check. If things are still the same, it should only be for the cost of the anchor that you need to pay and the labour should be free if you need them to put it in (15 mins.) But the dealership is not obligated to provide the service for free if they don't want to. Call another dealership if there are more than one if the area. The cost of the anchor is probably still under $20.

I called a few dealers and they all say it's $40. Is it because it's Volvo? One guy said he could put another hook for cheaper, but I told him it needs to be a hook that's specifically for tethers.

Is there another soulution, or no FF?

Is $40 the price of the anchor and the installation? It's not bad, I think. And it's good to know that they all tell you the same price. And it could be that parts are more expensive with Volvo. The last time I had one put in, it was in 2001 and it was a little under $20 for the anchor and the installation was free, but that was a decade ago

The part was $40, in another branch it was $42.50. The installation - the parts guy didn't know, the service guy knows the price, and I didn't speak to him. I didn't realize it would be double everyone else, but one of the places said, it's a quick job, so the installation shouldn't be too much, but he didn't know details.

Yeah, my dh refused to buy me a Volvo after our last one because everything was so much more expensive

Hope you get it installed for a reasonable price.

Hmmm...shouldn't there be tethers in this vehicle being an '02? Wasn't at least 1 top tether location required by this MY? Or was that '03? Sorry, fuzzy brain preparing for a big move...

I was at a Canadian Tire clinic last week in Toronto and was told their rate for TA is $92 and change - Part and Labour. That's killer.
I'm going to have to call around Kingston because I know we send people away from clinics but I don't know who they go to or what they pay.
