I finally got the nerve.

I was looking on Kijiji, at baby items, looking for a small stroller to use for traveling, and saw an one posted for a used car seat. This seat was used in the grandparents car, and totally expired. My 16 year old cousin had this car seat when she was one, the T- Shield car seat. I e-mailed them explaining the expiry date, and that they weren't safe past five years. I re-checked it, and she had re-moved it from the add. I am sad that her children had used it even as just a back up car seat.

One great thing about kijiji vs. craigslist is if you file a ticket, they will take off the ad, within 24 hrs if it's not a weekend. I try to throw out a friendly email if I'm reporting an ad, because they might not know why it keeps disappearing if they have no clue about seat expiry. If someone has an ad saying "expired seat for sale" I just report it without emailing them because I figure they know better.

I just copy the ad ID number, click "contact kijiji" at the bottom of the page, PASTE IN THE NUMBER, and then click "law enforcement inquiry" and put a brief note saying "poster is selling an expired seat, illegal in Canada under the Hazardous Products Act," and they take it down every single time.

Hmm I tried reporting a add but they didn't take it down. So I just tried this. Hopefully they take it down.
