'96 Explorer? Questions...

Gonna let the van get reposessed next week. I'll discuss that later, but a mechanic friend of mine has a 2 door '96 Explorer for sale. Needs a few things, things I can handle myself or with my Dad. I trust him, he has a state inspectors license, he knows what will pass.

Read somewhere that the 2 door '96 only has 2 seating positions in the rear. Can't find confirmation on seating configurations anywhere.
From what I've heard/read, the '96 should (assuming 3 seating positions) have no issue fitting my FR85, MA/MR, and CCO. Anyone try?
Found the part numbers for TA retrofits on here, will Ford charge? 3 TAs for free still? Only need one ATM, but 3 sure would be useful for later.

Anything I should know about them? Other thoughts?

The two-door is the Explorer Sport, correct? Yes, it only has two seatbelts (and of course no LATCH) in the back seat. It is not a suitable vehicle in which to transport three children. I'm sorry.

I owned a 1995 Explorer Sport. I'm sure there are only two seating positions. The backseat is wide enough to accommodate some three-acrosses, but with only two seatbelts, it can't happen.

I'm sorry. I don't know how you feel about this (I would have very mixed feelings myself), but does it have a passenger side airbag in front?

The owner's manual indicates that it does.

Sometimes you have to do what you have to do. If you can't find something to fit all three in back, with one in front you wouldn't have to worry about fitting three across.
