Question Amazon.com & Visa Gift Card Problem

I want to order a Britax B Ready stroller from Amazon. I have a Visa gift card that I want to use but the balance on the gift card is not enough to cover the entire cost. Does anyone know how I could use this gift card and then use a credit card to pay the remaining balance? This is the type of gift card that you enter like a credit card but it's not and Amazon will only let me select one credit card from my list. Has anyone ever dealt with this or does anyone know what I'm talking about? I tried contacting customer service but they were less than helpful.

Maybe try placing the order by phone?
Or maybe you could buy an Amazon Gift card with your visa gift card and then use the amazon credit w/ your credit card as well.

Awesome idea! I never would have thought of that. Thank you! I got a Britax B Ready with doubles kit for $290. I am so excited.

Those gift cards are a pain as many retailers (online or brick and mortar) don't have a way to accept more than one "credit" card. So, they can take Visa, but just once. Or if they do accept more than one method of payment, often they won't take 2 Visa's, so if your real credit card is a Visa, you'd be out of luck with a Visa gift card and Visa credit card.

I've heard many retailers complain about these cards. Additionally, if someone doesn't know they balance, they normally can't be used as the store needs to know the balance to ring it in because the system doesn't provide them that info. :thumbsdown: (might be okay if you know your purchase is less than the balance, but totally not good if you want to use up your balance and pay the rest with another method and don't know what that balance is exactly)

I recently had a $100 rebate debit visa and a $10 one. the $10 turned out to be easy- I used it for a $10 prescription drug copay at Walgreens- no tax, no weirdness, exact amount, perfect. The $100 was big enough that I used it a variety of places, in trasactions that were less than the balance, no problem. Yesterday I realized I was down to $2.86 on it (able to check the balance online)... and realized, what a pain to have to deal with that at a store. "Yes, please put $2.86 on this, and then the rest over here." So I went and bought an Amazon egift card for myself and added it to the small gift card balance I'm running. So, yeah. That.

Britax has a promotion going on right now that if you buy the stroller then you get a second seat, car seat or bassinet for free. I also had a $60 Visa giftcard, $40 in swagbucks gift cards and a $10 off coupon. :thumbsup:

I've had the stroller for about a week and I adore it. It is so awesome!
