H made it to 9 years and 4 days before I had to pull her booster. She's 4'10", 85-90 lbs. She's always been long torsoed and in everyone else's cars she's been out of a booster since school started, but I kept her in a booster in my sububran because the seat depth was just enough bigger than everything else to required a booster.
In DH's and my dad's trucks, she was in the extended cab seat, and well above the headrests without her booster, and with short depth seats, she fit fine. In my mom's Kia, and my sister's Corolla, the booster made the shoulder belt slide off of her shoulder and again, she ran out of headrest.
Well, in my burb, it finally happened too. The headrest and shoulder belt stopped fitting right and we had to let her grow up. Oh I feel horrible, but she fits in the seat just as well as my mom who is 5'3". It just makes me sad that she grew up.
The lap belt seems a little high, but I poked and prodded and it actually rests across her pelvis. Believe me I checked--over and over again. Now I have to adjust to looking into my backseat and not seeing her sit up so high.
