Buying a new booster this year

So I just realized that ds's hbtb in dp's car will expire at the end of the year (I can't believe he's been in a booster for 5 years! Yipes! I knew nothing of car seat safety until the poor kid was probably 3/4). So I guess I'm going to have to buy another seat...darn. That's just too bad. Really.

So I have 10 months to research and figure out what we want. Anything new coming on the market this year? Any raves?

Ds rides in a Monterey in my car and we love it! I like that it latches in and that would be a really good feature for dp's car as he NEVER buckles the seat in when no kids are in it!:eek:

Ds will be 9 by then. He's currently 66# and 52"...I don't know his torso height.

All ideas welcome!

dp?? that's one I haven't seen before.

anyway... I'd either get another Monterey or, because he's old enough, you could let him go backless in that car in something like the Clek Olli, one of the harmony backless boosters, the SK Santa Fe, etc.

yes, it's the backless version of the Monterey (which I spent a lot of energy a couple years back convincing Russ at SK that there would be a market for... lol)

I thought that was what dp meant... but I could think of a couple other possibilities... and didn't want to be assuming.
