Question seat belt and sleeping question

Are there any tips for helping a child stay in place when sleeping in a backless booster?

Luckly we have a nice tall booster for him so he still fits that but this weekend
I grabbed the backless and let him ride in that in my boss's truck but he fell asleep and started leaning out of place I was sitting right next to him so I just woke him some and got him to sit up again. What happens when my Monarch expires or he out grows it how do I keep him from falling out of the seat belt?

The child is almost 8 65lbs and very tall I don't remember his exact height but hes wearing size 10 clothing...hes a little stick.

I've trained myself to lean to the side into the seat belt. But if I lean too far then I hit the door. So I don't know what the answer is.

no advice... my kids didn't go to backless boosters on long trips until they could sleep and stay sitting up in them.

BUT... I've noticed putting an elbow on the armrests/against the side of the car and putting their head on their fist/hand seems to be what they do... but othertimes, they just lean their head backwards.

I had some Dreamwings when we drove cross country 5 years ago, but I think they are out of business...

(edit...ok, I just read the reviews. Evidently the quality is dreadful! I wish dreamwings were still around, they were very supportive...)

Would you be able to get him another HBB, I think that may be the best option if it is an option.

Thanks, yeah he tried to lean his head backwards but then drifted further into sleep and would start leaning to the side then I'd have to poke him and he would sit back up. Funny thing is at one point he was like "mom why didn't we take the booster with the wings I like the wings"

That probably would help...maybe I should build him some "wings" out of pool noodles and duck tape...and figure out how to tape them to the head rest....but hopefully he will out grow the sleeping thing

Depending on where the elbow hits, that may not be a safe option against a window side of the car with side curtain airbags where the child is sitting. Just something to be aware of. I had to retrain myself to not sleep that way in my sienna!

So, this might be a totally bad idea and I hope someone will tell me if it is, but when I was a kid I used to lock the seatbelt and then lean into it and rest my head on it like a pillow to sleep.

Ha I did that too, I had totally forgot about that.
