Car was backed into???

Our neighbour slid down his driveway this morning and hit our civic in the drivers door and back door. We have the safeseat and blvd in there. Safeseat is on the drivers side, do we need to replace??

What kind of damage was done to your car?

If we're talking a little scratch in the paint, I wouldn't worry about it - while it's technically a collision due to the movement of the other vehicle, there obviously wasn't any force transferred to your car if the paint is barely scratched.

If it's dented, then yes, replace.

By technicality, a moving object hitting your vehicle is still a collision. But in this case I think it's reasonable to use a little bit of your own judgment. If you have to have your car fixed in any way, then definitely replace the seats.

eta: If you have to replace you have to replace both - doesn't matter where they were installed in relation to the point your neighbor hit - Transport Canada says to replace after any collision, as does Graco. And if you have the original white shell Britax, then they also say replace after any collision. (In Canadian seat manuals anyways.)
