I think I am interested...I think. Could you just explain the concept to me?
Honestly technology is so beyond me at this point. I'm still in the dark ages. I've read about Apple TV over and over again in the past and the concept just never made any sense to me.

From my understanding if I want to say watch a movie I rented from itunes from imac on my TV this is what I would need? Would not using the proper cables work just as well or does using the Apple TV have added benefits?

I am just getting a bit annoyed with having to rearrange my living room so the kids can watch a movie every time I rent one from itunes and you know watching it on a big screen would be nice as well.

Not the OP but I think if you have to re-arrange your living room, this would be beneficial to you. You can watch rentals, purchased movies/tv shows as well as stream youtube and Netflix (if you have a netflix subscription). You would still have access to your computer while the kids are watching something.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

:yeah that:

Basically the apple tv connects your TV to all the content in itunes, your computer (if you allow it to) and some of the internet.

You can:
-Rent movies and tv shows from itunes
-Watch movies from Netflix "Watch Instantly"
-Watch any of the movies you already have in itunes (or ones you have bought, or burned to your computer in the proper format)
-Watch beautiful slideshows of pictures from your computer
-Listen to your itunes music through the tv
And more that I can't remember.. This site goes over it all

You will need a TV with an HDMI input, just fyi. HTH!:)

ETA- It uses the wireless network for everything, so you won't have to run a cable from your mac to your tv or anything like that. :)

Sounds like a great idea.

I just have to figure out how the warranty stuff would work if bought in the U.S and I'm in Canada, but would you be willing to ship to Canada?

If you need my mailing address just PM me.

Apparently the warranty applies to all of North America, but I'll have to double check. Yeah, I can ship to canada if shipping isn't insane :p I'll get a shipping quote when I get home. :)
