V and I went to BRU today to take a peak at the clearance section (and 3 different seats I almost came home with. ) We stopped to play with a few seats to get his impressions of which ones he likes and take some measurements.
V is 20 months, 25ish pounds with about an 11.5/12" torso.
Complete Air 50:
Despite his look in the picture, he actually REALLY liked this seat. As in, almost pitched a screaming fit when he had to get up and put it back on the shelf. He kept asking me to take it out to the car. Not helping my whole resisting-getting-a-CA thing!
He had miles above his head.
The MyRide:
Another one he liked. He was in love with the cupholders, of course. I also really liked this seat. He didn't want to get out!
Less room above his head, of course, but I'd buy this seat regardless.
The new Marathon 70:
He DID NOT LIKE this seat. He wanted out before I even buckled him in fully. I hated the recline lever, I just altogether did not like this seat either.
Had about the same amount of room above his head as in the MR, but at a far different price.
And, just for fun - as V is far too young to ride in this seat anytime soon - we tried out the Nautilus. Of course, it was his favorite seat.
He said "Yay!" as soon as he sat down and I started buckling him in. Scary how well this seat fits littles!
Funny of the day: He's fallen in love with Ingrid Michaelson's song "You and I." He calls it the clapping song and insisted we listen to it on repeat the whole way home.
