What is semi-recline in Alpha omega for?

This is out of curiousity, no where in my manual does it say when I can use the semi recline position in my alpha omega 3 in 1.

It says RF, MUST be in fully recline and FF MUST be in upright. Bizzare.

The semi recline is for forward facing only. It is to ensure you get good contact of the carseat on the seat you're installing it on - some are more sloped than others or are shaped differently.

Thanks! I just got the manual hardcopy mailed to me and lo and behold the printed manual is different a bit than the electronic one emailed to me. The printed one confirms that is what the semi recline is for. Nowhere in my digital copy does it mention that.
