You can if the seats were not occupied. Since the children were not in them, there was no force on the harness. She had them installed with the seatbelt meaning no force on the latch strap.

how much for the bottom grey pieces that are screwed onto the bottom? shipped to canada? if that is possible, my dog chewed them on bottom of our spare :(
