Complete air vs complete air LX

Is there a difference?

I'm looking at the BRU descriptions (I'll be trying one in my car soon) and they look pretty much the same. I checked the safety 1st website and it says 5-35lbs rearfacing, and doesn't have any info on the LX, but BRU says 5-40 rf and 22-50 ff for both models.

I'm very confused.

The LX has a base, whereas the original CA just has the foot that flips down for RF or up for FF. The LX is also marginally easier to install with the seatbelt because the belt path is slightly bigger. The different recline settings make it easy to adjust the recline (you have to uninstall to change the angle, but you don't need pool noodles or anything).

ETA: sorry, didn't realize this was in the CA forum. The models might be different

Basically ditto to what Anna said.

Both seats are 5 to 40lbs rf'ing and 22 to 50lbs ff'ing.

The regular model has a "kick-stand" that you have upright for ff'ing and flip under for rf'ing. It's most likely that you would need to use a rolled towel or a pool noodle when installing the seat rf'ing.

The LX model has an adjustable base that does the recline for you so you won't need a pool noodle with it in the vast majority of vehicles.

Ff'ing install is pretty much the same for both of them. I haven't noticed any difference in the sizes of the belt path between the 2 models, but I'm not sure I would've noticed if it was only a marginal difference.

My 2 cents, is if the seat is going to be moved from vehicle to vehicle a fair bit, you'll probably appreciate the LX model. If it's going to be just installed and left, you're likely fine with the regular model provided you're comfortable with the idea of using a rolled towel or pool noodles for recline. It's not difficult to use the towel or pool noodles, and if I remember right one of the youtube installation videos actually demonstrates using them to get the right rf'ing recline angle.

Sorry! I forgot to subscribe to the thread, so I didn't come back...

DD is almost 2, so we want a pretty upright incline anyways... We usually only uninstall when it needs to be re-tightened or cleaned, so as long as we can get a good initial install, it's not a big deal how difficult it is to do.
