Here is a list of new product recalls issued this week: 10/29/10-11/05/10

BRITAX IS RECALLING CERTAIN BRITAX CHAPERONE INFANT CAR SEATS MODEL E9L69N9 MOONSTONE, E9L69P2 RED MILL, E9L69P3 SAVANNAH, AND E9L69P5 COWMOOFLAGE, MANUFACTURED FROM APRIL 2009 THROUGH MAY 2010. THE CHEST CLIP WAS INCORRECTLY PRODUCED WHICH COULD RESULT IN A MORE BRITTLE CHEST CLIP THAN WAS INTENDED. AS A RESULT, THE CHEST CLIP WHICH POSITIONS THE HARNESS STRAPS ACROSS THE INFANT'S SHOULDERS MAY BREAK WHEN THE CHEST CLIP IS ENGAGED AS THE INFANT IS SECURED INTO THE INFANT CAR SEAT.

Haier America Recalls Black & Decker® Model BFE53 and Haier® Model ESNCM053E 5.3 cubic foot capacity white chest freezers due to fire hazard. Sold at: Black & Decker Model BFE53 was sold exclusively at Wal-Mart nationwide from January 2010 through September 2010, for about $150. Haier Model ESNCM053E was sold through Amazon.com and other retailers from May 2010 through October 2010 for between $220 to $290.

Hunter Safety System Recalls 2010 Year HSS Ultra-Lite carabiners that were supplied with the HSS-300 Ultra-Lite full body climbing safety harness due to fall hazard. Sold at: Outdoor hunting retailers and directly from the company via telephone and the company's website at www.huntersafetysystem.com from June 2010 through September 2010 for about $100.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention join Costco Wholesale Corporation (Costco), in warning consumers not to consume Bravo Farms Dutch Style Gouda cheese (Costco item 40654), as this cheese may be associated with an outbreak of E.coli O157:H7 infections. The cheese was available for sale, and free samples were offered for in-store tasting at Costco in Arizona, California, Colorado, New Mexico and Nevada.

Beaver Street Fisheries, Inc.ofJacksonville, FL is recalling 5-7 lb Tuna Loins Lot 928378, because they have the potential to be contaminated with elevated levels of histamine. The tuna loins were distributed to wholesalers and distributors in Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, Texas, & Virginia.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is expanding its Oct. 30 public health alert for an undetermined amount of various meat and poultry products produced without the benefit of federal inspection by N.Y. Gourmet Salads Inc., a Brooklyn, N.Y. establishment. The implicated products were produced between April 20, 2010, and Oct. 29, 2010, and were distributed to retail establishments in New York.

Baugher's Orchard & Farm of Westminster, MD today issued a voluntary recall of all its apple cider because of its potential to contain the E. coli bacteria.

Eickman's Processing, Establishment Number 31776, in Seward, IL, is recalling approximately 12,086 pounds of meat and poultry products because they may have been underprocessed: Lena UMW Country Mince Meat, Eickman's Canned Chicken, Eickman's Canned Pork, Eickman's Canned Beef, CJ's Country Canned Beef. The products subject to recall were produced between Nov. 4, 2007, and April 7, 2010, and distributed to retail establishments in the northern Illinois area.

Intelli Health Products, announced today that it is conducting a voluntary nationwide recall of Duro Extend Capsules For Men. Intelli Health Products, is conducting this recall after being informed by representatives of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that laboratory analysis of Duro Extend Capsules For Men sample found the product to be adulterated with Sulfoaidenafil, an analogue of sildenafil which is an FDA approved drug used in the treatment of Erectile Dysfunction(ED), making it an unapproved new drug. Duro Extend Capsules are sold nationwide.

Medtronic, Inc. today announced the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has classified the company's previous action related to the Octopus® Nuvo Tissue Stabilizer as a Class I recall. On Sept. 14, 2010, Medtronic proactively and voluntarily recalled the device from the market due to the potential that a component of the device could fracture during use. The resulting potential hazards are that fragments of the component could fall into the patient's chest cavity and/or damage the heart tissue. Medtronic has received two reports of device failure occurring during patient use, which required retrieval of device fragments from the surgical wound; neither event resulted in permanent impairment or death.
