2010 Dodge Grand Caravan Need more Tether Anchors

Hi All
Just wondering if anyone with a 2010 has tried the additional tether anchors in the 3rd row. I saw some information about them used in the 2009 T&C. The pics and info all look the same as my 2010.
My local dealership says they are worried about liability with installing an extra tether strap in the back. Just curious if anyone with a 2010 has had success in this area
Thanks

No experience with the Grand Caravan, but I did look into getting heavy-duty tether anchors installed in my Mazda 5 to use in place of the factor-installed tether anchors (long story on the reason) and I suspect you'll find similar issues. Newer vehicles have a double-wall body, so it's difficult or sometimes even impossible to access the other side of the panel in a location suitable for tether anchors.

I did finally find a body shop willing to do it (it involved removing the bumper of my car - not just the cosmetic outer bumper, but actually taking apart the rear end of my car) and the estimate was $300-$500.

I would recommend finding a body shop that does van mods for people with disabilities; they're the ones most likely to have the most experience.

You would think that a vehicle as new as 2010 would think of adding more then 1 tether anchor in the back.
You would think also that a Tether anchor to the seatbelt bolt if adequate to handle the weight of a full grown adult could handle a FF car seat

The Caravan should have a minimum of three tether anchors -- assuming you're in the US -- as that's what's required here by law. If the 2010 is like it's predacessors, there will be one on each captain's chair, and one offset in the third row. IIRC, the third row one is for the center or *maybe* either the center or driver's side (choose one -- not to be shared) but I'm not certain so please check your manual. (Especially since the vehicle I'm familiar with is several years old -- 2006 maybe?)

Can you tell us the ages of children you'll need to be transporting? It's possible that some of them can rear-face, or can be boostered, eliminating the need for tethers. Or perhaps we can help you rearrange so that everyone has a TA that needs one. Ages, weights, seats currently riding in and the setup you'd prefer will help a lot. :)

there is a part that fits the new '08-'10 Caravans and T&C's. Have to leave to go get the kids, but will come back with the links
