OMG, seatbelt use

Just saw a pic on friends facebook and I had to close it down in shock.

She has 3 kids, 7.5, 4.5 and 3 in Nov. She drives some sort of van, so it is not a space issue. Looks like she had the second row seats out.

So in the third row she had all three in SEATBELTS!!! 4.5 in back right, 7.5 in the middle (lap belt) and the almost 3yr old in back left! :eek:

I have commented on her having her barely 4 yr old in a booster before and she just shrugged it off and said she was over 40lbs.

I just hope that they are never in an accident.:(

That sounds pretty bad with all of them just in seatbelts. I wish there was more you could do, but probably there isn't a way to convince everyone.

Do you ever post carseat videos or links on your facebook?

I see you're in Canada. Don't they have any booster laws? Could you call the police when you see her leave her driveway or some other such strategy?

Katy - I post links all the time. I think it is time to repost a lot of them again though.

Peg - The law where I am is you must be 4yrs old and 40lbs to use a booster and in the booster till 80lbs or 4'9.

I did email the police to see if they even enforce this law. I see so many people have kids in booster that are not legal. Not to mention should still be in a harness IMO.

The last picture I saw with her was the not quite 3yr old in the harness that is built into the van seat. That was not that long ago, so I wonder if this was just a random thing? :mad:

Guess it will be time to hunt down the videos again and repost. Do either of you have one for lap belt only use?
