I was out in town today when the cashier at the pharmacy says "I see on FB that you're all about car seats. Do you know anything about those vest things?" I tell her that I really don't, but they're highly recommended here.
She says her hubby won't/can't install her DS's seat correctly after they switch it to and from the grandparent's car. Then she says her dad would rather put him in a backless booster in his car for convenience and low cost.
Her DS turned 2 today! She was looking up booster minimums online and stumbled across the RSTV. (Researching to back up telling her dad a booster is NOT ok)
She said he is almost heavy enough for it, but I was wondering if there is an age minimum. Is there any safety concern over such a young kid using it instead of a car seat, assuming he is tall and heavy enough for it? I don't want to make her think its fine if it wouldn't be.
Should I tactfully suggest buying a Scenera (or something else cheapish) to stay in her dad's car instead?
