Tethered RF seat, can I recline for more leg room?

Right now, ds is rear facing in a Decathlon, it's tethered and a rock solid install.

Is it ok to recline the back of the seat he is in to give him more leg room & to increase his view out of the windows? He isn't uncomfortable, but he doesn't have much room. The seat is tethered, so I can't see a good reason why reclining the auto seat would be a bad idea.

He is rear facing, drivers side captains chair in a 2006 Kia Sedona.

what does your car manual say? most tell you if there is a certain position it must be in when installing...what make/model do you have?

Britax told me it OK to recline the seatback slightly so long as doing so does not disturb the install at the belt path (don't rely on the tether for that less than 1" movement) -- recline the seatback would not safe, however, if someone is behind it: they would impact it in a crash....

You must check your own vehicle manual, though & follow it (if it says the seatback must be upright then it must be!) & you should call the carseat manufacturer yourself, too.
