Double stroller for my needs? EU ones are fine too!

Hi Everyone! So as some of you may remember, I will be travelling with my almost 4 year old and 18 month old to america in december. I live in south africa.
The first flight is going to be 18 hours , then i get to washington, 3 -4 hour wait and then from Washington to california.
My flight and seats are already booked. I booked two business class tickets so my daughter is going to be on my lap (yes i know i should have booked 3 economy seats as that would have been safer for my daughter, but hey you live and you learn).
I was thinking of getting a double stroller so that I could keep track of both of my kids knowing that they were confined to their stroller. I will be travelling with the both of them all by myself(Which already worries me like crazy).

I was looking at either the Maclaren Techno XT double or the Baby Jogger City Mini double. Is there any other strollers that you recommend?
The only thing these strollers are missing is reversible seats. I know that my daughter would be a lot happier looking at me and I really wish I could find a double stroller that could do that as well as be comfortable (and not bulky).

The airline shouldn't have a problem with me gate checking a double stroller right? I also plan to use this stroller in malls as well as at disney world.

I have never used a double stroller before. For those of you who have two or more kids , do you use your double stroller more or your single more ? i cant decide whether I should just buy a cheap double stroller if i probably wont use it that much ? If i would probably use it a lot then I dont mind spending more.
any thoughts?

I heard EU strollers have reversible seats but im not sure which ones? :) :)
id like the stroller to fit my son till he is 5. (he is pretty short so that shouldn't really be a problem)

Also what is the difference with the city elite vs city mini? which is more popular and preferable? Any thoughts on the indie twin one? I'm looking for any suggestions as I am so new to double strollers :)

i heard the stroll air duo has the reversible seats but that it is a very narrow seat and that older children(ie my petite 4 year old) would probably not fit into it? any thoughts?

They redesigned the new stroll-air, calling it the my duo, and it has higher seat backs, is more narrow at the wheels (the NV is 31.5 inches, the new one is 29?) and it has a new board, too. http://www.stroll-air.com/

I don't find the seats narrow so much as they are short.

My average 3.5 year old, granted, he has a bit of a longer torso, is pretty much barely under the canopy.

Stroll air spider duo NV.

Both seat reverse independantly. This was last year, first day of school, so they were 10.5 months, and 2.5 years. In the backround is a valco rad, that would be the twin to the icandy pear, which is the base of the icandy apple? crap, have to double check, but you get the idea. I could buy the pip conversion for the icandy, and it will fit on the valco rad.

This is the emmaljunga twin cerox 360. This thing is also like 31.5 inches wide. I think they also redesigned their double to be more narrow. The seat on this is one unit, but the handle also reverses on the cerox, not sure about the nitro.

this is the bebe confort twin club, that can also be used as a single with a step. dd was 3.5 here, and is huge, as she was out of her decathlon by height already.
