Those of you getting replacements for twisty harness straps on the FR80, are the replacements like the harness on the FR85/MA?
Thanks

I just ordered an extra harness about a month ago and it's the same as the one on my seat (DOM Jan 2009). Definitely not as think as my MA's. I just got the extra harness since they'll probably stop making them and we'll be using the seat with harness for at least 4 more years.

Weird...someone else ordered the FR80 harness replacement and said it was just like the FR85, thick, and with the extra webbing loop sewn in at the hip. I was looking forward to buying one, but gosh, it hardly seems worth it if I'll get the same old thing :/.

I got a replacement harness about a month ago for 80 and it's the same as the 85. Thicker and has the extra webbing sewn on.

Just out of curiosity, are the 80 and 85 harnesses significantly different lengths? (Not advocating mixing parts)

I don't think the length is different, they are both ample for large children, it's really the thickness and the loops that make the 85 much nicer. I asked Sarah Tilton if I could put an 85 harness on my 80 and she said no, which is why I was surprised and happy that the PP got an 85-style harness for her 80, like they are upgrading everyone's. Maybe they are all in the same box, though, and you get whatever they send you (kind of how they do their other harnesses, like the Marathon is fine on the Fisher Price seats).

I'll have to get another one then and see.

ETA - called Britax, the replacements are the cobbleweave - sp?? - a thicker webbing like on the FR85
