MR Question

I have a '09 Graco My Ride.

My infant-seat cushion only has one set of slots for the harness.

It's been my understanding that the new cushions now come with two slots.

Question: May I cut higher slots in my cushion to accomodate the harness that is right above the lowest level?

I'd probably give Graco a call and ask them first. They might say yes, they might say no, or they might offer to send you a new one. Hey, one can hope, right?

I would not recommend altering any part of your car seat in any manner... the seat has not been crash tested with such alterations, and alterations would void the warranty. You could call Graco and ask if a newer infant insert could be used for your particular model (they may need the model number and manufacture date for your seat). If they allow it, you should be able to order a new insert directly from Graco.

Thanks for the advice.

The rep told me that I definitely could not alter the cushion in any way; therefore, she was sending me out a cushion kit--but couldn't verify if it had two slots.

She made a note in the system that the cushion was being sent to me b/c I requested a 2 slotted one but she can't verify what the company had in the wherehouse. But she did confirm that the cushions that are currently being produced have 2 slots.

So . . . I'll keep you posted.
