dodge grand caravan

Is it true, I read somewhere that there is only one top tether spot in the back seat of a dodge caravan. My best friend asked her two little girls, S. 4.5 years old, 35 pounds, rides in a Frontier XT. L. 3 years old, 25 pounds rides in a Frontier XT, they are on order and be in by the middle of September. They both want to ride in the very back of the new van. Right now S. is riding in a HBB Turbo Booster, while waiting for her new car seat. L. is in an EFTA. There mom just hit a moose with the girls in the car. This is the new seat. S. only has been part time in a booster seat, until the accident, but has been in it full time since the accident. She is going back into the harness until at least 45 pounds, if not some more. L. is going to be in the harness until she grows out of it weight wise. Is one of the girls going to have to ride in the middle or can the both ride in the back.

That is correct. If both children are going to be in forward facing seats, only one of them can sit in the third row. (Presuming this isn't a 2000 or 2001 model.)

Yeap, I have a caravan and when I bought our new seats and went to go put them in, I learned it only had one... :( So, How I have to do it is my two older girls ride in the 3rd row, but with no LATCH. Just the seat belt. and then the youngest is in one of the 2 seats in the 2nd row, Using LATCH. I Could put one in the 3rd row using the top tether and then the other two in the 2nd row using LATCH, but one, the two older girls would fight about who would sit where and also, I was PG a while back and miscarried... But had that 2nd seat in the 2nd row ready for that baby. :( but where going to start TTC in March so no point in moving them back and forth all the time.

There are reports of Dodge providing retrofitted tethers for the outboard positions of the third row. You may want to ask your dealer. :)

Yep, there's only LATCH in the middle spot (it's off center) of the 3rd row (I have an '09 GC). We knew this before buying, however. It's a non-issue for us since we'll only ever have boosters in the 3rd row.
