FF'ing and recline question

We're heading on a looong road trip soon. I was thinking about leaving in the very wee hours of the morning so the 5 and 7 year olds would be sleeping a lot of the trip. What are the rules with how far you can recline the vehicle seat? The 7 year old is in a Monterey and the 5 year old in a Radian. I'm more worried about the 7 year old flopping forward as he sleeps. Would it make a difference if it was 2 Radians?

I don't have my Monterey manual with me but IIRC, it says that the back of the booster needs to be flush with the vehicle seat. Even if you have reclining seats, I wouldn't play with it personally as it is going to alter the fit and function of the seatbelt. My 8yo sleeps in his without any head slump. The head wings are so deep that he is able to lay his head back into the headrest and conk right out. He will sometimes turn his head to the side within the head wings.
