What is the highest RF weight limit?

I see Radians for sale that go upto 45lbs rf, and I thought the max in Canada was 40 lbs. Am I wrong? Was it recently changed?

The max rf'ing weight that a seat could "potentially" be rated to has been 65lbs since May 2007. Prior to that it was 48lbs.

As long as a seat meets CMVSS 213 standards, a manufacturer is free to rate a seat to whatever weight they want to provided it doesn't exceed the maximum allowed CMVSS 213 weight. (65lbs at present.) The key here is meeting CMVSS 213 standards - for example, if a seat can't pass rf'ing dynamic testing with a 35lb dummy then a manufacturer can't rate it to 35lbs rf'ing.

Yeah that to snowbird, and on a more basic level.....

Up until January the highest RF limit in a seat in Canada was 40 pounds. In January, the 2010 RadianXT was released which has a 45 pound RF limit.

Just wanted to note that the Radian Premier also RF to 45#, not just the XT. It doesn't have the headwings but is otherwise the same seat (different covers too) and is a little less $.
