Oh no - I just ordered the backpacks from LL Bean last week. Does anyone know if they'll match the new prices and give me some of my money back?

Which would you recommend for a 5 year-old? My friend's nephew will be returning home to Egypt next month and for his going away gift, I wanted to get him a backpack and fill it with things to do on the flight home, like drawing paper, crayons, colored pencils, etc.

I've had this happen to me in the past and they did not. You can, however, return your full price item and then buy a new discount item. It's a pain, but might be worth it if the discount is great enough. Check with them first - maybe they changed their policy.

i was goign to order last week but i held out hoping the bags would go on sale. i lucked out but it was HARD to wait. sorry melanie that you missed it. that's frustrating. i actually had a hard time including the promo in the order so i contact live chat & they fixed it for me immediatly. they seem to have great cust service

i ended up ordering all my kids the original plus model. it was the cheapest of the ones that had a side water bottle pocket. i had chatted with their live chat & they informed me that they recommend different sizes based on age & how much weight a child should be able to withstand. they said if you order a larger than recommended then be careful not to overload the bag. so i was comfortable with ordering a large bag for my 4yo sicne i want it to last a LONG time. we got them monogrammed as well for an extra cost

I ended up ordering the same one since you said you ordered it for your 4 year-old. I also wanted to get one that would last the little boy I am buying it for. He is on the tall side, so maybe it won't be so difficult for him to carry (it said ages 9 and up). I figured it would also give him some room for an extra change of clothes, especially for such a long flight back home. I hope he likes it! I also had it monagrammed with his name so I think he will. Now I will be shopping all the back to school sales for crayons, markers, paper, etc. to put in it for him as well as little snacks for on the plane.
