Canadians and limitations.

I have spoken to my MP in Canada very recently and plan to visit him in person in the next couple of weeks.

How many Canadians are there on here that are pretty pissed off with Transport Canada and the 48 lb weight limit and the lack of harnessing options?

Perhaps a petition would be a good idea. There is strength in numbers. I'd like to know how many people are affected by this.

Count me in on the annoyed list. I would love to be able to harness longer than 48 lbs, though my DH mocks me for it.

Count me in! And I'd like to see them make a formal statement saying 1 yr AND 20lbs and that rf'ing is safest to the limits of the seat. Right now most information only says 1 yr or 20lbs.

We are very sadly lacking in the carseat safety department - at least when it comes to best practices.:(

I would also sign a petiton.. Though my DD is so petite she will probably be 7 before she outgrows the 48lb MA!

I hope they change the Definition of a child to "anyone weighing less than 65lbs" soon.. Though 80lbs would be nice I seriously doubt it would happen!

I also think the RF laws should be 12mos. AND 20lbs, though most seats start at 22lbs now so maybe it should be 12mos AND 22lbs. Anything to keeps kids RF as long as possible.

Actually if someone that is computer savvy that can set up a website/page where people from all provinces can sign the on-line petition, that would be cool and very effective, instead of just by hard copy.
