Smoothing rough edges. Safe?

In my quest to find something that will fit center in my Trailblazer, I tried my Titan. I figured with the narrow base it sits up on, it might work. And it fits just as good as the Flexloc. It would be great not to have to buy another seat. I would like the convience of a bucket but when you decide to have a baby with limited finances, you make do with what you have :).

So anyway..... the front base thingy on the Titan, towards the back of it it's very rough plastic. Like scrape you hand badly rough. And that is right where my oldest would buckle his belt. Would it be okay to file and/or sand that smooth? I don't want to affect the intergrity of the seat but I think it would be alright?

TIA!!!!

Can you post a picture of what you mean?

I think I'd be inclined to cover the area with packing or duct tape before sanding it . . . (don't know if that is OK either though)

I think a picture is in order. I have a Titan and have never noticed any surfaces rough enough to scratch my hands and I've used it in many 3 across combos.
