Cybex Solution X-Fix booster arrived - pics!

A couple of weeks ago, I won the Cybex booster on carseatblog.com. It arrived last week, and I was finally able to try it out on Friday. (Had to wait until we were going somewhere without the baby, since it simply is too large for 3-across.)

DS rode in it for about an hour total, and said it's pretty comfortable, and roomy. DD1, on the other hand, had trouble sitting still because it was so roomy. (She just sat in it while we were in the garage - she's nowhere near ready to booster train.)

Here are some pics:

In my 2003 Focus wagon. I don't think the backrest is quite all the way up. Also, I could make the seat more upright by sliding it back further on the track (but I think this is fine according to the manual).

DS in the seat. He's 9YO, 50" and 65 lbs. He only has a couple of notches left. (And he's always been short-torsoed, though I'm not sure what his torso height is right now.)

DD1 taking her turn. She's 4.5, 39" and 35ish lbs. It fit her pretty well, although I think it was too wide - she was very tempted to lean over so she could use the armrests.

The shoulder belt actually fits her pretty well, but she's out of position here.

Did you have any of the issues others have mentioned with the kids feeling like they were going to rocked out of the seat?

I love the LATCH and I love the color options!!!

Nope, not at all. Actually, I can only remember one person having that issue, and after reading the manual myself, I think that she interpreted something to mean that she had to have her vehicle seat completely upright - so I can see why her DD had that problem. :twocents: I personally interpreted it to mean that the seat had to be upright, meaning not super reclined.

Did the headwings bother them at all? They seem super duper close. Do you think they are closer than the old pw? I really want to get a look at this seat irl!

I don't think they're any closer than the old Parkway. I don't think the headwings bothered him, at least not due to the closeness - he's always leaning out of headwings anyway. (He claims it's because he can't see around the front passenger headrest unless he moves his head to either side.)

Oooh love your color! I'll need to re-read my manual but I was pretty sure you need to slide the seat back along that track until it locks. I could definitely have read it wrong though.

I think you need to push the headwings down a couple of notches for both kids as well... that might actually make your daughter feel a lot more snug too. I'm not a tech or anything, but the pictures show the headwings almost touching the shoulders. I hope that helps :)

I'm glad you like yours! :D

Edited to add - for clarification on the latch - page 20, step 7... headwing stuff is page 24

It was locked.

I think the position is OK for both kids. They were actually both slouching a bit out of position in these pics. (It's hard to get DD to sit still in a booster for me - part of the reason I say she's not ready to booster train yet! :p) I'll definitely check when we put the seat back in, though.

Right... it locks "out" when you're latching the booster in, but then step 7 says "While squeezing the latch adjustment handle, push the booster seat back firmly until it is flush with the vehicle seat back. Release the handle and the booster seat will lock into place."

It shows it in this video as well - [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6Fr8EBQA_s"]YouTube- Installing the CYBEX Solution X-fix High Back Booster Seat[/ame]
