I worked at a car seat fit station today, it started slow but after a few calls to the local radio stations it picked up a bit. I did 7 car seats myself and helped with 3 more. I had my FIRST EVER correctly installed car seat!!! But... it was outgrown and I was forced to put the child in an ill fitting booster Mom was great though and was concerned about the belt fit and assured me that as soon as she had a job and could spare $ she would be purchasing a new booster for him. He was 4 and 38lbs. I also helped a family with two children that came in with no car seats in a 92 Corrola which meant locking clips. And then there was the 2yr 31lb child that came in, in a forward facing infant only seat I have no idea how that child fit! I'm soooo glad all of those families came in. I also convinced a mother to turn her 1yr 20lb boy back rear facing! I also taught my fellow techs that convertible car seats can be installed more upright if the child is older  Every child left safer than they arrived!!!
I'm volunteering for another check tomorrow (actually I kinda took over as only one of the tech from the county could make it and didn't have time to do all the set up)
Another plus; I got to wear my new "Don't mind me I'm just checking out your seat" shirt
