Question 1990 Ford Tempo

4 door, my husband is planning to buy this and I might choose to drive it for a bit, it's likely a whole lot more economical than my huge Suburban......

Anyhow, I tried looking for an online manual to see if there are tether anchors installed or if I should be calling Ford to make an appt now, so the wait is not too long. I'm also going to assume that there are no UAS bars?

If the car cannot have my car seats safely installed in it, then I'll keep driving the suburban...........

Does anyone own a 90 tempo? Or know where I can find a manual to look for my answers?

You're right in thinking that it doesn't have UAS/lower LATCH anchors (the Tempo was phased out of Ford's product lineup before factory equipped LATCH became required). The LATCH manual lists the '90 Tempo as retrofittable with 3 top tether anchors using Ford part number F13Z54613D74-A for each tether anchor. Ford dealerships are supposed to provide free tether anchor retrofits through Ford Program R7C for 1989 and newer pre-factory equipped Ford models. :thumbsup:

P.S. You probably knew this, but tossing it out here anyway just in case and for any lurkers: Unlike the top tether anchors, UAS/lower LATCH anchors cannot be retrofitted in the Tempo and aren't retrofittable in most cars, with a very few exceptions like certain VW models that have their own model specific part kits.
