This past weekend, I tried to help my cousin get her Snugride base into her 2003 Subaru Forrester and had a horribly difficult time. I tried to install it passenger outboard (since Subaru doesn't recommend center seat installations) using both the seatbelt and LATCH.
With the seatbelt, I was able to get it installed *fairly* tightly, but it still moved about 1", which was too much for my comfort level.
With LATCH, the base moved ALL OVER THE PLACE. I couldn't get even a remotely good install.
I was *so* annoyed. I felt terrible that I couldn't help my cousin get the base in the car. I did refer to to a CPST, but there aren't many in her area of New York.
Thanks for letting me vent!
