The girl I watch is 32 lbs at the most and her Mom just told me that she bought her a booster today because she is to tall for her secondary seat in their car. I told her she is not big enough for a booster - minimum 40lbs, and that is a minimum. I need some good sites that I can give them to reference what I am telling the parents, the mom is receptive, but I am afraid the Dad won't be. I recomended the Evenflo Chase because I sat my DD in it and she had quite a bit of room to grow and she is a good 6 inches taller.

IS YOUR CHILD READY FOR A BOOSTER
  1. Does your child meet the weight and height requirements?
  2. Can your child remain properly positioned for the entire length of every ride, never leaning out of the shoulder belt?
  3. Will your child leave the lap/shoulder belts properly positioned securely across the collar bone and hips/thighs?
  • If you're not sure about your child's maturity abilities and your child still fits a harness, then keep him/her in a harness until its maximum limits.
  • If your child has outgrown his or her current forward-facing harness, but is not mature enough to use a booster properly, there are various Alternatives for Kids Over 40 Pounds (also for vehicles without shoulder belts)
