I've been back at the hospital all day today. They can't keep the fever down, even double dosing Tylenol and Motrin (and giving him way more than i would ever give him at home). They've put a litre of fluid into him already. He's completely listless and miserable and HOT. Gosh having a hot baby all over you is... hot.

AJ was in a class all day and my dad was working, so no one to relieve me (we've been there since ten). I just came home to submit some assignments and get ready for the night shift. When he is sick, I am the only person he wants. He'd be miserable if I she spent the night with him instead of me. Not that he's not miserable anyway...

Blood looks normal so far... well, normal for a normal kid, elevated for Charlie. They think it's viral, so no antibiotics (good since he's allergic to so many, bad since there is no quick fix), just lots of fluid (he's refusing to drink) and hopefully keeping the fever down as much as possible. But if it spikes I want him in the hospital with a line already in, not in my bedroom twenty minutes away.

He's lost three pounds this week, too. Oh, and I measured his torso at the pediatrician yesterday, just for the heck of it. Overall height 35 inches, torso just over 14 inches. To make this a car seat relevant thread ;)

Poor Charlie. I hope his fever breaks soon. Wishing you and him as much sleep as possible. Hugs.

Sending get well vibes to your precious little guy. And wow, that is tall.

Sending out lots of {{{{{get well vibes}}}}} for Charlie!!! I'm sorry he's doing worse, but it's good he's in hospital, where he can get the care he needs. I hope he's got lots of great staff around him who can deal respectfully with his illness and your wishes.

Lots and lots of hugs and positive thoughts heading your way.
I sure hope that whatever is bothering Charlie is out of his system soon.
