For those of you with kids ages 6+ that are harnessed...

What seat do they ride in? How old are they? And if you know their measurements, could you provide them?

DD is 5.5 and currently in a Radian and a True Fit. I have 2 TBs in their boxes waiting for her when she finishes with those seats (which will be passed down to Dois when he/she is 5 or 6 months old). The thing is, she's just not ready for a booster yet... her impulse control is very low and she's a wiggler. While I think she's fine in the Radian, I don't see her being in the True Fit for as long as she could fit into the Radian...

I'm hemming and hawing over whether to purchase her a new seat when the TF gets too snug... I know I have time, but I'm just curious what older harnessed kids are riding in!

Hannah and Brett both ride in the Nautilus. Hannah is 7.5 and weighs 46 lbs and is 46.5 inches. Brett is 6 and weighs 50 lbs and is 47 inches.

I feel like at least Hannah should go to a booster full time, but she can't buckle it, where it's no problem doing up the harness.

He's not 6 yet, but my 5.5 y/o is in a Nautilus. He is booster trained, and does fine in one, but he doesn't mind the nautilus and can buckle himself so we've kept him in that for now. He's got a relatively short torso and has about 2.5 inches or torso growth in the Nauti. I'm sure I'll move him to a booster full-time before he outgrows it though.

DS is 7 46lbs 48in and in a Britax regent. He also still fits in the GN. He rides in a booster in DHs car and does really well. He prefers his Regent. I think when the blue Monetray comes out, when are gonna get one and he will be in a booster full time though.

DS1 just turned 6 in Feb. He's 44 lbs and 47" riding in a Frontier will still a little room to grow - I think his shoulders are even with the 2nd to top notch. I'd have to check that to confirm.

AJ will be 7 next month and needs to move to his PW. He's right at the top slots of the GN, but he's just been so bad lately, lol. I like to keep him harnessed when he's acting like this, but we're out of options for seats I already own.

A is 6 years 3 months old, 45in tall in a Britax Regent. That said, he is booster training into a pkwy sg because he is just a hair below his straps on the Regent and will be outgrowing it soon. Then again I have been saying that for the past 6 months and while he grew a smidge it was all legs the last time. He does really well in his booster, but for trips longer than 3 hours he starts to complain about having to sit still so much.

J is 7 years 9 months old and is 49in tall 46lbs in a Nautilus. This child is all legs and has a good 2in of growth room which is good because he can't sit still to save his life! He will likely not be in a booster seat for a long long time because of his poor impulse control and inability to sit still even for short trips.

K is 2 years 5 months old and 47in tall 65-66lbs in a Regent. I know you said over 6, but this child is taller than my 6 year old. No hope of booster training anytime soon and yet the child is only about an inch below the top harness position. Looks like a vest or some other type of device is in her future.

P is 7 years 9 months (J's twin they have the same stats P might have about 1-2lbs on his brother but otherwise the same) and has been booster training for several months now and doing well. I haven't taken him on a trip longer than an hour yet and he still prefers the Regent to his Monterey and will jump in J's Regent any chance he gets, but at 7 I have a hard time justifying another big seat purchase especially when I don't know how long these siblings will stay.

Jack is 6 1/2, I just measured him over the weekend and he was 46" tall and he's 42lbs. I'm not sure of his torso though but I know he has a short torso, he's riding in a Regent and on the 2nd to top slots but after looking at the slots this morning he could actually be the next slot down. He has a ton of growing room and the only reason he is still harness is because he will not sit still for anything, he's a wild one so I don't like him in a booster. He does have a Vivo that we use occasionally but it's too nervewracking for me to use often.

MY dd is same age as yours, but she'll fit in her nauti for at least another year...for a while, it looked like she'd be out of it sooner, but her growth has REALLY slowed, so I think we've got a good year left. If the 65 maestro gets released, I'd seriously consider that one if we didn't already have a nauti. We have a frontier65 but dislike it.

my dd turned 6 in March. She is about 43 pounds and 44 inches. Torso a little long, and slender. She wears 5-6 bottoms, and 6-7 tops (varies of course by brand and style!)

She is booster trained and had been riding in her Vivo, but requested her old car seat for a change of pace.

So now she is riding in a Signo with a little more harness height to go - headrest is almost all the way up.

DD isn't 6 yet but she will still be harnessed when she is 6. She is in the FR now but I'm getting her a FR XT soon she is almost even with the slots on the FR. I tried her in the turbo on the weekend and I hated it! no leg support at all it was about 4 inches above her knee on her thigh. She even told me "mom, this isn't safe, you will get a ticket if I ride in this" LOL She has only ever been harnessed but she has the marurity to be boostered. I jsut feel better with her harnessed in my older vehical

My cousin was harnessed until last week  She will be 8 on Friday but is a leggy 43-45lbs (depending on the day ) We had her in a Regent and I think she was just below the second to top slots when we took her out of it. She is very well behaved and mature in the car, is an only child so there are no distractions in the car that would tempt her to move out of position so we decided she was mature enough/tall enough for a booster. She is now EXTREMELY happy in her new pink Monterey and is just loving life

She had started to complain that the Regent really hurt her bottom over the last 6 months... she never complained about the seat otherwise and was great about clicking her own chest clip and putting it at the right height. I taught her how to buckle her Monterey and I watched her do it again 5 times over 100% perfectly and she knows the importance of sitting still- she said "it's dangerous to lean forward, right?" so I am confident she will be an awesome booster rider - I was actually super impressed at how seriously she took the whole booster lesson and she asked me tons of questions

I do have a question though- because the Monterey is latched, there is no reason to buckle it in when not in use, right?

DD will 7 in June, she is 48" and 44lbs (she is all legs!). She is in a Regent in my van and DH's SUV and a Frontier in IL's Buick. We may start booster training with IL's car with the Frontier for next school year, for now it's fine.

DD#2 is 6.5, 48 lbs and is in the second to top harness slot of the regent (and not close to out growing it) and is just about to outgrow the GN top harness slot. She is a sensory kid and LOVES her Regent, so I have been hesitant to change things, but the plan is to get her a booster after the winter driving was over, so now I am just waiting until we can go somewhere and try out some boosters and see what fits her best.

All three of my kids were harnessed past age 6.

DD1 and DS. They rode in Huskys/Regents. DD1 was 80#, 5ft, and even with the top slot shortly after turning 10. DS is 10.5 is just now(as in, just hit it this weekend) 80#, 4'10" and about 3/4 of an inch below the top slot. They quit using the Regents when they no longer needed the harness at about 9.5 though.

DD2 Rode in the Regent and the Frontier until she was 80# at 7.5 yo. She was even with the second to top slots for the Regent and almost even with the top slots of the Frontier. She honestly needed another year of harnessing, although she is finally starting to settle into the booster thing after 6 months.
