I just realized something...

My DD could sitll fit in almost every infant seat out there. Well all of them with a 22# limit or more. She is 14 month, 20-21 lbs and short torsoed. I tried her in the Target Onboard 35 and she fit very well! She even had legroom to spare. I really like the Onboard!

I moved her out of her infant seat at 5 months because I didn't need it any more. She never stayed asleep in it when I removed it from the car so I moved her to the Uptown because I thought she would be more comfy.

I just think it's cool that she could still be using her infant seat. I'm glad manufactures are inproving their products for a longer lifespan and longevity of use.

But I still hate those darn rear adjust Snugrides... I mean how much more money can it possibly take to add in an adjuster strap... COME ON!!

It's a business thing for Graco. They want parents to compare their rear-adjust Snugrides with similarly priced Evenflo and Dorel infant seats. If they stop making the rear-adjusts, they price themselves out of the 'average parent' market.

From a safety-ease-of-use perspective, it's terrible, of course.

I'd rather they give up whatever the cheap infant seats that have front adjustors lack.

I don't think they 'lack' anything in particular. The Evenflo seats must have the handle down and have 1.5" of clearance.

The design is different, obviously, and, let's see, the belt is routed differently. They can be substantially more difficult to get a good angle with.

I don't think Graco can change the SR22 rear-adjust in such a way that it would save them money.
