Hi.

I am about to purchase a 2007 Chrysler Pacifica Touring. I have a 36 lb 3 year old in a Nautilus. What seat is best to put him in? A captain chair or the back row? And if its the captain chair, which side? Back row, in the middle? Thanks!

I take it he's your only at this point in time?

If that's the case, put him where his seat fits the best and where it works best for you. One side of the car isn't safer than the other, but the center of the back(middle seat if you have 3 rows) is the safest spot. That assumes you have a 3 across---but I don't think you do since you mentioned capt's chairs.

I have no registered, so I am the OP.

Yes, I will have three rows. Captains seats in the middle, then a bench seat across in the way back.

Make sure to choose a seating position with a top tether anchor. That means either one of the captain's chairs OR the third row position on the driver's side. Third row middle and third row passenger side do not have a top tether anchor and therefore aren't suitable positions for a forward facing harnessed child :)

Ok, so if I decide to do the captain's chair, which side is best?

I have a 2006 Pacifica with a 3rd row, does yours have 3 seats in the 3rd row or 2? Mine has only 2, they each fold up/down independently. The 2nd row is captains with a console in the middle. My 3rd row only has a tether on the driver side too.
