question about when the regent is outgrown

A friend has a long and skinny ds who will outgrow the regent before he gets even close to the weight on it. Heres a question about it though. The manual says its outgrown when the top of the ears are above the top of the restraint and it shows a pic. Heres the problem the pic shows the top of the regent as being straight across. But the regent has a higher back in the middle. So is that point where its outgrown at A or B

I wouldn't worry too much about the details there. His shoulders will reach the top harness position before his ears go over the top, and that means it's outgrown anyway.

On the same note here (sorry to hijack) the slots on the Regent are large. Does the child outgrow the seat when they are even with the bottom of the top slots, center of the top slot opening, or when their shoulders are totally over the top slot opening? It just seems to me like the holes for the harnesses are huge! I always take my kids out of the Regent when they reach even with the bottom of the slots, but could I technically leave them in he seat a smidge longer?

I think once the harness is going over and down, rather than over and up or over and straight across, is when you move it up/discontinue use, regardless of the size of the slots.

Just my educated guess, though.

Someone else on here told me the Regent slots are outgrown when they go over the bottom of the slot. Can't remember who though...

I had that same question when I was trying to figure out when to move the straps up. No one could tell me then, but what maedze says makes sense.

OP, I would assume you would go by the tallest part because the main concern is head support and since the tallest part is behind the head...well it's supporting the head. ;) But likely it will be outgrown before then, like maedze said.
