Nautilus Install Lap Belt 2000 Venture

While a CPST I cannot seem to get a good install in my 00 chevy Venture van. I have the 3 seats across in the 2nd row like the Warner bros. version. I utilize the middle seat because it has a lap belt and because it is safer in the middle.

Unfortunately the rigid belt stalk that leans forward and once installed as tight as I can get it, it pulls forward really far. I am certain that it is moving more than an inch at the belt path but cannot seem to get it tighter. I have tried adjusting the incline to no avail.

I temporarily moved it to the l/s belt in the back and installed in under 3 minutes. I hate the rigid belt stalks...ugh.

Can anyone give me some tips or pointers on how to make it work better with a lap belt install?

Oh and it is the Elite version in case that seems to make any difference.

I have a 2001 WB Venture. I had my Nautilus installed in the middle with the ALR lap belt. It was a little tricky until I got the hang of it. What helped me was climbing in the seat and rocking it back and forth, and that allowed the ALR to click in one last notch.

Also, Chevy will swap out the rigid stalk for a flexible one, free of charge. There's mention of it in the manual, I forget where. I'll try get out to my van and look after the kids are in bed. I had mine done, and it's made a world of difference when it comes to installs! :)

Thanks Ladies! I will get back at it tomorrow and will also check the manual. That rigid stalk has got me before but I also seemed to find the "trick" with my other seats.

Hey do you know if that's possible to the Uplander too? We have a 2008 Uplander LS Extended and the captain chairs have tall rigid stalks that angle forward. With Latch I can install anything. Once DD outgrows the latch limits of the vehicle the only seat I can get installed rock solid is the Frontier LBP, which means we won't be able to use the Radian anymore. :( The Nauti installs good but not great.

That I don't know! I only found out about the Venture because I'm a weird person who reads manuals cover to cover
