walmart and a seat check poster

Two different posters I saw at the peds office yesterday.

First...local (maybe national) walmarts--offering 5$ for old carseats.

Second, a poster for a local seat check event from AAA-- "90 percent of carseats are installed wrong, is yours one of them"...and the clip art is a kiddo in an ohs. The event isn't near me though.

cool! it would be awesome if it was all walmarts! that may cut down on the donated seats to the thrift stores!

Our health dept does something similair. If you come in and take their half hour class and bring your old seats they will give you new seats that are age and size appropriate for your children. The only thing bad about it is of course they're not giving out extended harnessing seats but from what I saw when I used to clean over there on the nights they had it, anything they're giving them is better then what these people have. I guess I'm weird but I can understand if you have an expired seat if you can absolutely not afford something else, but come on it doesn't cost anything to throw that cover in the washing machine and vaccum out the crumbs.
