An older kids perspective

We had our dfs sisters visit us this weekend, and rather then move seats all over, I put the boosters in for them. They are 6 & 7. The 7yr old usually rides in the Radian XT, but this time she road in a TB. She was excited at first (they don't ride in anything at home) to be in the booster...but after a bit said...I want my other seat. I asked her why, and she said "I like the pillows, I can sleep in it". I asked her if the other seat was more comfy and she said yes. So here, a 7, almost 8yr old child who hasn't been in anything in years prefers a harnessed seat to a booster! And she objected about it the first time she ever road in it...now she's asking for it. I guess I'll deal with rearranging seats from now on!

That's great! (Too bad they can't talk their mom into at least boosters, though.)

My DS is 8.5 and actually prefers riding in a harnessed seat. Good thing, too, cause I need two Radians to make my 3-across-with-an-infant-seat work! :p (He'll be moving to boosters full-time after school is out, and we don't have to worry about him being able to buckle a booster quickly in the pick-up lane.)

I'll never forget when my then 9yo DS1 was in a Parkway in our van and a friend of his came to ride with us... the friend said "Is that yours?" and while I steeled myself for what would come next, my DS1 said "yeah" and his friend said "It looks so comfy -- you're lucky."

Isn't it funny how they prefer it? My 10 year old went to Sea World with girl scouts last year and She brought the Monterey and the other girls were jealous! It was pretty funny, who would have thought that a bunch of 9 and 10 year olds who had been out of boosters for years :)() would want one? THey said she looked so comfy, she had a cupholder and she had a place to rest her head.
