scenera or another my ride?

J is just out growing her CS RF, at age 2 1/2, 28 pounds 35 inches. I have 2 MR for our cars but now I also need to replace the seat in grandma's car. She is in that car usually one day a week, anywhere from 10-40 minutes at a time, each way. I tried her in a Scenera today (Big Lots $45) and she has plenty of growing room height wise (on 3rd slot from bottom for RF, several inches above her head), and I don't expect her to be above 35 pounds before 4 years (or more, as B almost still fits RF and he is 5 yrs old!). Will she be comfortable enough? Are her knees going to be in her chest? We love the MR, and she has lots of leg room in it, but of course, $45 vs $125-$160 for MR got me thinking... What would you get?

I'd go with the scenera... you can follow it up with an Evenflo Maestro for 80 dollars afterward that will get her to booster age.

Did Big Lots have a $65 Uptown or the other one? Like a scenera but with better padding/cover? If you go with the $65 if you can find one. If not, I'd try to find a $28 online scenera at overstock or something.

Wow- $28? Did not think of Overstock.com. Off to check their site! Ok, so it seems so far people think the Scenera will be plenty comfy RF for J until about 35 lbs (probably around age 4)?

ETA- Our Big Lots only had pink Sceneras and lots of forward facing harness/booster seats, plus regular boosters.

*Jealous* I, too, put in a vote for the Scenera. Since she has plenty of room in it, I don't see the point in buying a myride. I'm so jealous of parents with short torsoed kiddies. My 28 month old would be close ti outgrowing the scenera ff.

Overstock has the same Scenera as Big Lots, but it $5 more, plus shipping
OK though- off to buy the Scenera from Big Lots. Grandma is coming over this afternoon and I can intall it for her today.

It's funny though, my kids don't seem to have short torsos- they wear regular size shirts but the size down in pants. But they are certainly short kids in general. :D B is only about 40", 35 pounds, H is 42" and 37 pounds, and J 35" and 27 pounds (no shoes for any of them).
