i just cleaned DD's nautilus that is used in DH's car about once a week.

i hadn't seen it for a while because im rarely in DH's car but omg it was gross.
its apparent he was letting her snack in the car even when i ask him not to! i dont allow it in my car cos im waaay too anal about messes.

so i took the cover off. detached the back from the base.
used a small broom to clean out all the nooks and crannies.

used a rag and hot water to clean the plastics.

then i mixed up some oxiclean and used a rag to clean the cover.
my white rag was dirty grey when i was done :p

pretty basic right?

also... are you allowed to use oxiclean on the plastics? i didn't need to but im just curious.

My grandson has one in his dad's car. The dad asked me how to clean the cover so I just volunteered to do it. Eek! It was bad.
But I realized that it was the bottom cover that was the worst. Thank goodness, because getting the cover on the main part off looked pretty difficult.
I washed the bottom cover by hand. No good. Put it through gentle in the machine, air dried and it came out great. The few dirty areas on the main part I was able to get off with spot cleaning with Folex. I wiped down the whole thing after turning it upside down to get the crumbs out of all the little crevices and used some Q-tips too.

I strip the cover off, wash it in the (new front loading) washer on hand wash.. Then I toss it in the dryer for like 10 minutes on low, just get it a little more dry. Vacuum out the crumbs with a dust buster, and wet wipe it down. Tah dah!
