Is there any way to ignore a complete forum (using the board technology, I mean)

Is there any way to ignore an entire forum when you use the "New Posts" button ?

I'd rather not see the pregnancy/etc forum at all, if possible, and as it is, I don't go there - but all the new posts to it show up under "new posts" anyhow :(

And yes, I realize I'm likely over sensitive and something of a freak, but just being bombarded with all the posts from that has made me all but walk away from this board in it's entirety - which I would rather not do.

I think this has been asked before, and I think the answer is no. :(

I'm not entirely for sure though. I will look for the thread... I'm 99.9% sure it's been asked.

Unfortunately, I do not know of any way to do this. The Pregnancy forum was created, in part, to keep this content out of the main Community Member forum for this very reason. I wish it was possible to do more. Perhaps something like this will be available in the new version of the forum software that should be here within the next few months.

Would it be possible to remove Community Member access? That would, of course, block access to all CM/SCM forums, but it would block the pregnancy forum.

That gives me an idea- I could ban you from the Pregnancy forum. I suspect that would do it. Please send me a PM if you want me to do this.

I can make you a link to bookmark. It will give you all the posts from the other forums, and skip the pregnancy forum. Give me a few minutes...

Alright, here you go...

This link will show you all the posts since your last visit:
http://www.car-seat.org/search.php?...,29,31,32,33,35,42,43,45,46,30,5,18,39,15,7,6

This one will show you all the posts for the day:
http://www.car-seat.org/search.php?...,29,31,32,33,35,42,43,45,46,30,5,18,39,15,7,6

Both exclude the pregnancy forum.

If anyone wants a custom search link, just let me know. I can include/exclude any forums that you want. Actually, those with basic skills can probably look at the url and figure out how to do it themselves, but I don't mind to do it for them.

ETA: I took a guess at a search parameter, and found an easier way of doing it.

This link will show you all the posts since your last visit:
http://www.car-seat.org/search.php?do=getnew&exclude=38

This one will show you all the posts for the day:
http://www.car-seat.org/search.php?do=getdaily&exclude=38

I know it's not what you were looking for, but I have the same issue on some days. When I am having trouble seeing those posts, rather than click 'new posts', I go through the sections I want to see. My usual order is, SCM, CM, then on the 'upstairs' stuff. I try to avoid swap since I'm broke. That works for me, if the above suggestions don't.

Sorry you are feeling this way. :(

Wow, it looks like you guys really liked the url search info. There's a lot more that you can do, too. In addition to refining the new posts searches, you can also give yourself a lot more options than those available on the default search page. In some cases, it can really help to narrow down your results.

Here's another example. This link will show you all the threads that have been posted in the last 5 days with 0 replies in the safety forums, and carseat chat forum only. It can be used to find and help those people that may have been overlooked:

Here's a post that shows you a lot of the parameters:

It's probably not something I would use right now, but that was very sweet of you to do that for Kashi, and others who have had losses.
